If you need to make a payment to DUO, you will receive a payment request. Don't you have a payment request? Find out below which bank account number and payment reference you need for making your payment.

Student loan

To make a payment on your student loan, log in to Mijn DUO and use iDEAL. If you don’t see the iDEAL button, you will have to transfer the money yourself.

Student debt repayment from abroad or the Caribbean region

Do you live abroad or in the Caribbean region and do you want to make a manual payment on your student debt? Contact us about the exact amount of your debt when you want to clear your entire student debt. This way, you don't pay too much.

Use the following details for your remittance:

BIC: INGB NL2A
Account holder: Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs, Groningen, The Netherlands.
Under 'Description' (or equivalent), enter your Dutch Citizen Service Number (burgerservicenummer, bsn) with the extension 'ILS'. For example: 123466789ILS. This extension ensures the correct processing of your payment.

Student travel product fine

If you have a instalment plan for your travel product fine, use as payment reference your Dutch citizen service number with the extension '/betalingsregeling'.

Payment arrears with CJIB or bailiff

If your debt has been transferred to the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB) or the bailiff, you can no longer make repayments directly to DUO. Contact the CJIB or the bailiff if this is the case.
