Changing payment method
Payment by direct debit is mandatory. Only if you received student finance before 1 August 2009 (MBO) or 1 September 2009 (higher education) can you choose to make the payments yourself.
What do you have to do?
It’s not possible to change your payment method in April. From May you will once again be able to change your payment method via Mijn DUO. For more information, see DUO is upgrading.
Direct debit failed? Forgot to pay?
If a direct debit does not work for some reason, or if you forgot to make a payment yourself, we will send you a reminder. If you do not pay this on time, you will receive a final notice (including administration costs). If you do not pay the final notice, we will resort to a bailiff. All additional costs will be charged to you.
